They sat down like any other couple out for a simple lunch, browsing the menu with no idea their meal was about to turn into pure comedy. After a short debate, they both agreed on the soup of the day — a harmless, simple choice… or so they thought.

When the waiter brought the bowls to the table, the man reached for his spoon… and immediately knocked it onto the floor.

“Whoops,” he said casually.
Then he turned to the waiter with the most innocent smile he could manage.
“I’m terribly sorry, but could I have another spoon?”

The waiter nodded politely and returned with a clean one.

But as the man picked it up…
CLINK.
He dropped it again.

“My goodness, these fingers of mine!” he laughed, asking for yet another spoon while the woman across from him tried her best not to burst out laughing.

The waiter, now slightly confused but still professional, fetched another spoon.

But then it happened a third time.
And a fourth.

Every time the waiter returned, the man would “accidentally” fling the spoon to the floor like he had the world’s slipperiest hands.

By now, people at nearby tables were trying not to stare.
The woman’s face had turned bright red from holding in her laughter.

Finally, after the fifth spoon disaster, the waiter gave up and said:

“Sir… I’ll just bring you all the spoons we have.”

He walked back with an entire handful of spoons and set them down with a dramatic sigh.

The man grinned, reached for his soup… and calmly picked up the spoon his wife had been hiding under the table the whole time — the spoon he had gotten before all the fake drops.

He dipped it into his soup and said:

“Perfect. This one works.”

The waiter stood frozen.
The wife exploded into laughter.
And the entire section of the restaurant suddenly realized what the joke was.

Sometimes the simplest prank becomes the funniest — especially when it takes five spoons and one very confused waiter to pull it off.
